Suzy, even with children it can be hard to make friends. When we moved interstate and my kids started new schools, most mothers knew each other from when their kids went to kindergarten and had no need for a new friend. I also had different values to many of the mothers who preferred partying and getting drunk in large groups, and there's nothing wrong with that. I soon discovered that I preferred quieter, smaller gatherings and found my small tribe that way. We each have to find the people and places that synchronise with our values and nature. I'm so glad you've found connections in your 'new' home town. It makes such a difference to how we experience life.

Yes, it takes a while doesn't it to find your tribe? But once you do, it feels so good. So glad you found your tribe.

It does feel good Suzy. I also learnt that it's all about quality rather than quantity. 😁

I often feel like moving because I feel lonely where I am which feels even more so now I've stopped drinking alcohol as most social events involve alcohol and it's not so fun sober.

I think there's an adjustment period when you give up alcohol. I remember it took me about a year before I really loved going out. I had stopped numbing myself, started to gravitate towards people who filled me with energy versus drained me.

I love this.

10. How can you connect with ideas that uplift your spirit?

Be OK with creating time for nothingness so that ideas come out of it... and perhaps join you on a Tuesday or Thursday.

Home is so much the focus just now. Very thought provoking article Suzy. I'm paused too, on the first chapter of Penny Wincer's "Home Matters". We're in the middle of some renovations and I'm struck with the idea of living inside out. How much is this 'new' room a true expression of who we are? There's financial limitations of course. However, behind this is the bigger question of what makes our house, home.

Now I'm going to try and ignore all the mess and join the Heartleap hour!

How do we make a house a home? I am living that right now.
