Wisdom from 3,500 years of lived experience?
Lynette Allen asked 50 women aged 50 to share their wisdom. Here's the book of their curated wisdom.
Most people when they turn 50 have a glass of champagne and book a dinner with a few friends. Not Lynette Allen!
Lynette, coach and medicine woman, who left London to live in Bali, invited 50 women, aged 50 and above to write a book about what they have learned in their lives and to share their wisdom.
‘Sacred eldership is a practice where the elders of the community in some cultures are treasured. In some cultures, there are groups over the age of 50, who gather and talk to share and use their voice for the benefit of their communities- you’re not allowed to join before you ‘come if age. This book is our version where 50 women write 8 life lessons.’
All the proceeds from the book are going to support 50 women and girls who have been rescued from the streets of Bali with The Bali Street Mums Project.Â
I have not only been supporting Lynette on this project but I’ve also written a little bit too.
Deborah Darling, who became a model at 52, has written the forward. You can read an interview with her here.
It’s an age-defying book. Inspiration for anyone who feels that their best years are behind them.
What if 50 was just the beginning?
This project has made my heart sing - it’s celebrating women’s wisdom and it’s a community project raising money for the mothers of Bali
It’s been a joy to hang out with an inspirational community of 50 women who are all creating incredible things with their lives post 50. From becoming international DJs travelling the world to hosting cacao ceremonies in Bali - if you’re feeling stuck in your life and want to feel that there is more life to live, then this might be exactly the book you want to read.
