“The purpose of life is not to win. The purpose of life is to grow and to share. When you come to look back on all that you have done in life, you will get more satisfaction from the pleasure you brought to other people’s lives that you will from the times that you outdid and defeated them.” Harold Kushner
This month, we are focussing on connection as a our theme of the month.
Studies are show that connection to others lower rates of anxiety and depression, will raise self-esteem, encourage greater empathy, and more trusting and cooperative relationships. Strong, healthy relationships can also help to strengthen your immune system, help you recover from disease, and may even lengthen your life.
Connection can GIVE us so much. Today focus on what you can GIVE to others?
Here’s today’s prompt:
Look back on your life so far and ask yourself - what satisfaction have you garnered from the pleasure you gave to others?
Today, how can you connect by giving to someone? (It doesn’t have to be material - it can be your time, a compliment, a place in the traffic queue.)
I've started a prompt at the bottom of my journal page. It reads something like, be welcoming, be gracious, compliment someone, ask a question...its a 'to be' list. Leave a legacy. Intentional living. I'm sure most people do all this without thinking but a reminder doesn't go amiss!
Have you read The Go Giver by Bob Burgh? It’s a great book you would love it! I love helping others, and have recently started recording how many people I help in a week, which makes me feel really good, it’s so easy to help really isn’t it, and it makes you feel great ❤️
