A beautiful article and a wonderful idea! I’ll have to really think about which songs represent 2024 and what I want for 2025. Thank you for sharing 🙏

It’s wonderful you’ve acknowledged and honored all your feelings around having an empty nest and now you feel ready to take on the next chapter!

P.S. Yes, know and LOVE the song “Come on Eileen” 🎶 😊

P.P.S. Michael Buble released Feeling Good in 2005… it was an absolute favorite of mine back then as I was trying to learn to live a new life without my son who died in 2003. It’s still a favorite to this day ❤️

I’m a little behind you in that my daughter spend the first half of the year finishing college and doing A levels then another few months decompressing after a traumatic experience of school and education in general. In August I took her to see Korn in London - a band that got her through some tough times - and none of her friends like! It was fun and so good t be there with her - though she was stressing about her look before we left the Premier Inn! Anyway it seemed to mark a turning point for her - and perhaps me. She soon after found an apprenticeship which she started at the end of August and is doing very well at - though starting to see the management in a new light after they sacked her friend for dubious reasons. Anyway - for all these reasons - and me finding some renewed sense of fight I’m choosing “You’ll Want a Single” by Korn - don’t play near small people - but in a strange way the loud sweary-ness helps me feel alive. 💚

Oh for next year I’ll have to think - but it’ll be something full of hope and energy.
