Oh Suzy! What a lovely post. To put pleasure and satisfaction at the centre of my world at this moment. And I very much appreciate your final question "allow yourself to ponder on pleasure and what truly gives you long-term satisfaction" What truly gives me long term satisfaction...I will ponder that more, however what came up is that whatever that is helps me be in the NOW more, in a space of sheer pleasure and in a zone of deep contentment and happiness. And, unfortunately, there are times where I choose not to partake in my long-term satisfaction because, well, there is just too much other stuff to do, and how sad that is! Suzy, thank you for reminding me to do what GIVES ME PLEASURE...

I love this idea @suzywalker. August for me is a very busy month as I am freelance and am working on either summer-focused campaigns so they're URGENT, or I'm taking on projects that the commissioners would be doing if they weren't on their summer holidays. But your idea still struck a chord with me as I can put pleasure at the heart of summer because personally summer is the best season. The light! I can get up early and do my own writing, walking and yoga and still work a whole day which leads to satisfaction on both counts: personal and professional. I love every minute of it... but I crash early! But on the weekend, that's what disco naps are for, right?! Thanks for your post!

Disco naps. Love it. Napping is my best skill. Maybe up the nap level - best sheets, cosy corners.

Needed to read this today. On holiday last week I got very clear on how I’ll make August ‘my’ month. Focusing on me first, the things that keep me well and healthy and bring me joy, then I can give better of myself to others. Back 2 days and back to work and already needing a reminder to do this! Read a piece about Will Smith last night delivering hot chocolates on set to all cast and crew as they worked 6pm to 6am in a freezing winter, and when asked why, his take was he shows up to everything thinking ‘how can I make this experience more magical?’ Your post reminded me of that philosophy too.

I love this question - how can I make everything more magical? Yes!!!!

Totally resonate with this, connection & creativity and are certainly fuelling my third act. Through connection with lots of new women I have found inspiration to follow my dreams.

Also I find myself focussing on things that bring me joy that will not always be available to me, silly things like watching the Olympics with my kids that are now almost all grown up and I am acutely aware won't be at home for many more years. Some things can wait for a week or two!
