“Sometimes we surprise ourselves more than anyone else.” Audrey Hepburn

It’s one thing to meet expectations. It’s another thing entirely to exceed your own.

Today’s journaling prompt is a juicy one: Where did I surprise myself?
Not where you ticked the box or did the sensible thing—but where you zigged instead of zagged. Where you said yes when the old you would’ve said hell no. Or no when people-pleasing you would’ve said absolutely, let me ruin my weekend for that.

Think back over the last six months. Maybe you:

  • Set a boundary and didn’t apologise afterward.

  • Took a spontaneous solo trip when you usually wait for someone to join you.

  • Wrote the thing. Launched the idea. Had the conversation.

  • Got out of your own way.

Big or small, surprises are your soul going, See? I told you we could do this.
They’re flashes of expansion. Pings from your future self saying Keep going. I like her.

Today’s journal prompt:
Where did I surprise myself this year—and what does that tell me about who I’m becoming?

You might only write a line. You might write ten pages. But be honest. Be kind. And above all, be curious.

You’re doing better than you think.
