“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” – Annie Dillard
At the end of the year, it’s tempting to reflect on what we didn’t get done. The books we didn’t finish, the walks we didn’t take, the promises we quietly shoved into the sock drawer of next week. But let’s flip the script—what moments this year truly filled your cup? Was it quiet sea swims, laughing until your stomach hurt with friends, Sunday mornings spent pottering with coffee and music, or losing yourself in a creative project?
How can you schedule more of these in 2025? What do you need to do less of to do more of this?
I loved taking a half a day to go on one of my favorite hiking trails. I didn't get much of a chance to this year, or even to do my weekly hikes. I think I'll just need to get them on my calendar way ahead of time so I am making that commitment to myself.
