“Trust in what you love, continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go.”
Writing hour starts at 9am today. Zoom link below.
At Heart Leap, I explore how to build a happy, creative, and simple life. At 9 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, I host ‘happy writing hours’ for paid subscribers. It’s for anyone who is trying to write a book, start a substack, or just have a little accountability for their writing practice. We chat for 5 minutes or so, and then we write quietly together for the rest of the hour. It’s strangely comforting and motivational to have a cohort of writers to support you and write alongside you. Subscribe and join us if you want some support. Zoom link at the end of this post. For one-on-one coaching sessions and support, please become a founding member.
“Trust in what you love; continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go.” Natalie Goldberg
Trust has been, and sometimes still is, one of my biggest challenges.
Can I trust others to really be there for me and my son?
Can I trust myself not to betray myself again?
Can I trust life to support me?
Can I really trust that what I love to do will take me to where I want to go?
And the complete bugger with trust issues is that the only way you’ll find out is by giving it a whirl.
The only way I (mostly) manage to do it is with baby steps (no giant leaps).
Baby step by baby step, I build evidence that that person will be there for me, that I will support versus betray myself, and that life will offer me the opportunities that I need versus want.
And if it doesn’t go exactly as planned, then it’s a ‘learning opportunity’.
Yes, I know.
It’s really painful, but I’ve found it to be true. Sometimes when it all goes horribly wrong; that’s when you learn the most, which stops you from repeating the same old lessons over and over again and takes you in the direction you need to go.
Not always the direction you were going in.
Or the direction you wanted to go in.
“Trust in what you love; continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go,” writes Natalie Goldberg.
I trust that by turning up to my writing hour twice a week, I will end up where I need to go.
I hope you will join me.
