“Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. It means making room for something better.” — Unknown
It’s day 6 of the 21 day mid-year review.
Some goodbyes are loud and dramatic. Others sneak out the back door with barely a sound.
Today we’re focusing on the latter — the habits, beliefs, or people you’ve quietly loosened your grip on this year. No grand announcements. No fireworks. Just… space.
Maybe you stopped answering the messages that always left you drained.
Maybe you stopped saying yes when your whole body whispered no.
Maybe you stopped believing you had to be “productive” every moment of every day.
Letting go doesn’t always look like slamming doors. Sometimes, it looks like choosing a slower morning. A clearer boundary. A deep breath.
This isn’t about bitterness. It’s about noticing what’s naturally fallen away — and what’s quietly making space for something better.
Today’s journal prompt:
What’s one habit, belief, or person I’ve quietly let go of this year?
What has that created room for — or what do I hope it will?
Great piece, Suzy. So relatable for big and small things. We recently sold our family cottage ~ so I'm familiar with the quiet goodbye. Your post came just at the right time.
