"Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow."
The only way that you can guarantee failure is by giving up. Let's try again.
"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow." Mary Anne Radmacher
Learning something new is not easy.
How do we become skilled at something?
Our first attempts can be clumsy, basic.
This can trigger our ‘not good enough’ stuff.
We can feel ashamed of our efforts.
We can feel foolish for even trying.
And we give up.
At the grand old age of 56, I’m learning how to write fiction.
My efforts can be clumsy and basic.
And I do feel a bit judgy about my efforts.
But I know deep down that I will not get better if I don’t write, if I don’t read, if I don’t practice.
That’s why I started the Heart Leap Writing hours - I wanted accountability, I wanted to an encouraging space, I wanted connection with a friendly, kind group of writers while I figure this out.
We can support each other and share resources and tips.
If you’re learning how to draw or sail or dance - the same is true.
Find your tribe, don’t learn in a vacuum, connect, reach out and join a community of like-minded people who want to encourage you and see you succeed and will help you find the courage to say “I will try again tomorrow.”
