“You do not have to carry it all.” — Morgan Harper Nichols
Sometimes we become the keeper of burdens that were never ours to begin with. Old guilt. Other people’s expectations. A story that says we must always be strong, always be available, always be good.
And sometimes, it’s not even the weight of the thing but the years we’ve carried it that has tired us out the most.
Today, pause and ask yourself gently, lovingly, honestly:
Is this mine to carry?
Maybe it once was. Maybe it never was. But now? Maybe now it’s time to set it down.
You are allowed to lay down what’s no longer yours to hold.
Journal Prompt:
What am I carrying that’s no longer mine to hold and what would it feel like to finally let it go?
