"Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out." Robert Collier
Today’s prompt: If you had to describe this year in three words, what would they be?
My three words are: Foundation, graft and gratitude.
This year I’ve been laying bricks (not literally), working hard, and trying not to trip over my own good intentions.
After leaving Psychologies magazine, I needed to rebuild my career. Turns out, freelance life is less about sipping coffee in charming cafés and more about meeting deadlines while your tea goes cold. The silver lining? I’ve been invited to write some amazing stories about people overcoming enormous odds—they’ve inspired me to keep my head and spirits up.
Gratitude? A good friend faced a tough health battle this year, and seeing her suffer reminded me what matters most and seeing her get well has inspired me to join a gym (with a swimming pool!) for the first time in decades!
Learning the lessons of this year, what are you inspired to do differently next year?
My words are experimental, abundant and love... These words came up, and even though I found 2024 a very tiresome and difficult year, I am super grateful for all I have been through and where it has brought me...
