“Girls you've gotta know when it's time to turn the page.”
It's New Year's Eve. Let's turn the page together.
"Girls, you've got to know when it's time to turn the page.”
― Tori Amos
It’s time to say goodbye to 2023.
I believe to start afresh, it helps to make some space, clear the decks, give yourself room to breathe, and let go of what’s no longer serving you.
Here are 11 of my favourite letting go quotes from inspiring people.
1. “At some point, you have to let go, sit still, and allow contentment to come to you.” Elizabeth Gilbert
2. “Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss; that is only poisoning you, nothing else.” Paulo Coelho
3. "Forgiving isn’t something you do for someone else. It's something you do for yourself. It's saying, 'You’re not important enough to have a stranglehold on me.' It’s saying, 'You don't get to trap me in the past. I am worthy of a future.'" Jodi Picoult.
4. "Girls, you've got to know when it's time to turn the page.” Tori Amos
5. “You don't have to let that one thing be the thing that defines you.” Jojo Moyes
6. “The great courageous act that we must all do is to have the courage to step out of our history and past so that we can live our dreams.” Oprah Winfrey
7. “I am more than my scars.” Andrew Davidson
8. “Don't worry. Just when you think your life is over, a new storyline falls from the sky and lands right in your lap.”Rebekah Crane
9. “Trees still grow after letting dead things go.” Darnell Lamont Walker
10. "There's a weird freedom in letting go of what you lost and looking forward to the possibilities the empty space leaves behind.” James Lanman
11. “I'll never know, and neither will you, of the life you don't choose. We'll only know that whatever that sister's life was, it was important and beautiful, not ours. It was the ghost ship that didn't carry us. There's nothing to do but salute it from the shore.” Cheryl Strayed
